Fleetwood Mac Plans Reunion Tour

Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and the gang are back

(Newser) – Members of Fleetwood Mac won't be going their own way anymore, E! Online reports. The timeless 1970s light-rock band plans to tour again next year, says frontwoman Stevie Nicks: "It's the plan. Because that's what we do." Lately Nicks has been plugging her solo album, In Your Dreams, and singer-guitarist Lindsey Buckham is now on a solo tour. One member from years past who won't be joining them: ex-guitarist Bob Welch, who killed himself last month at age 65 in Nashville.

No disrespect meant to Bob Welch, but it was ridiculous and tasteless to mention him in the story and summary—he wasn't a part of the late '70s-'80s Fleetwood Mac incarnation that's having a reunion. He wouldn't be there even if he WAS alive. Saying Welch won't be there becase he killed himself is as inane (and gratuitously sensationalist) as saying Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green won't be there because he had a breakdown. Or that former member Jeremy Spencer won't be there because he joined a cult. Or that former member Danny Kirwan won't be there because he's homeless. No, Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan won't be there because (like Bob Welch) they weren't members of THIS band.

"Lindsey Buckham"? Hmm, must be a new member (or somebody who hasn't got a CLUE about Fleetwood Mac could have written the story.)
