But the cops also smelled alcohol on the man's breath and got suspicious. Then they spotted damage on his car and connected it to the accident, reports SunSentinel.com. After that, they got video from a nearby convenience store showing that the man had recently parked there, checked his car for damage, bought alcohol, and inspected his car again before driving away. Richard S. Schenfield, 21, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a fatality.
