(Newser) – Protesters once again faced off with Anaheim police yesterday after an officer shot and killed an unarmed man Saturday. More than 600 demonstrators thronged outside City Hall while a meeting was being held inside, and things got violent: Patio chairs were thrown through a Starbucks window, the windows of at least five other businesses and one vehicle were shattered, multiple fires were set, walls were spray-painted, one person was injured, and five people were arrested as some of the protesters threw water bottles and rocks toward police. Police also fired non-lethal projectiles into the crowd.

In addition to Saturday’s shooting, the Anaheim community is upset over a second fatal police shooting Sunday—the year's fifth death at the hands of an Anaheim officer—though that man reportedly opened fire on police during a chase, Reuters notes. Officials will ask federal authorities to investigate the shootings, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Anaheim - Home of Disneyland - is the bedrock of Orange County. The plastic land of make believe. Wealth, beauty, mansions by the ocean. All this shit could go up in flames in an afternoon. Anyone that knows the area knows how fragile the whole system is. Look at Garden Grove as the real Inland Empire. A faceless dump filled with asian gangs and low rent trash. The boob job bitches over in Laguna had better be ready for trouble.

Why attack businesses that had nothing to do with it? i will never understand that mentality. I wonder how many people in this mob bother to vote or can vote? Throwing a chair through the window of a business just means another broken window in the neighborhood. Throwing corrupt officials out of office by voting is what counts..
