When Israel was in possession of the Sinai, there were no passages into Gaza, and no rockets falling on Israel. 

As predicted in the mid-90s by the Solar Mortality Theory, starting in mid-2007 the human species would enter into a period of Global Socio-Economic Upheaval leading to wars and genocide, instigating DEATH CONTROL to counter the unfettered policy of NO BIRTH CONTROL. Present Birth/Death = 2 to 1  cannot be sustained in a world of finite resources. Means we must achieve a 1 to 1 ratio. So which is it? Less Births or More Deaths? Can't have it both ways- to balance the equation we either Reduce Births or Increase Deaths- that's what WAR is all about. Keep on havin't multi-birth families and you ENSURE that someone somewhere has to step up to the plate and instigate DEATH CONTROL. That's what WWII was all about. Did anyone note that after WWII the BULK of mid-east OIL went to mainly 2 countries? GERMANY and JAPAN who "lost" the war- but like Rolling Stones sang, "you don't always get what you want, but you always get what you need" Germany & Japan needed resources, so they eventually got what their burgeoning-population needed in the first place OIL along with a healthy dose of DEATH CONTROL forced onto them by WWII How long will it last? I didn't write this history,- It'll last until the last post WWII baby boomer retires. When's that? First ones retired FALL 2008- did anything happen then? Financial colapse ensued- DUH When's last one to retire? Bosnian death records show Birth Date peaks in 1930 & 1963, so last ones to retire will be 17 yrs after first ones born FALL 1946. Means we won't see the end of The Great Recession until Fall 2025
