So many stories like this ever since James Holmes. Seems like at least one shooting incident every day.

Seems to me that the discussion once again turns to guns killing people when in actuality it should be irresponsible people killing other people no matter what the instrument that is used. Just as recently as the shootings there have been multiple incidents of stabbings and killings with blunt force instruments. Locally there was a recent incident of a person under the influence using a vehicle to kill his wife. It isn't guns as much as it is some type of lunacy that seems to becoming more common, at least in the eyes of the media. Every mass murder is now a prime candidate for "mental illness" as a excuse. No one is responsible for their actions these days it seems. And the political environment is anxious to pounce on every incident in order to remove obstacles’ from the government's agenda. If the government did not provide the atmosphere of mistrust maybe the citizens would not feel as compelled to feel a need to fear them. The government has guns, and bombs and weapons of mass destruction and has not shown a responsibility to be trusted with them. Those that fail to learn from the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.
