(Newser) – Fareed Zakaria will soon return to both Time and CNN after his suspension for admitted plagiarism. Time says it's "entirely satisfied that the language in question in his recent column was an unintentional error and an isolated incident." CNN says it conducted a "rigorous" review of his work and "found nothing that merited continuing the suspension," Mediaite reports. Zakaria, who is also facing controversy over an unattributed book quote, will be back on CNN Aug. 26; his next Time column will appear in the Sept. 7 issue.

They hire him back as if there aren't 1,000 qualified people with no history of sleazy plagiarism desperate for such a job. I hate to race bait but it's easy to compare him to African-American Jayson Blair, who was caught twice for plagiarism and hasn't found any prominent work since.

So...if something floats back to the top of an oxidation pond that nobody goes near...that matters?
