How much would you pay ... for Britney's ABC gum?

(Newser) – If you had the money and nothing better to spend it on, it might be kinda neat to own, say, lyrics hand-written by John Lennon or an iconic costume worn by Marilyn Monroe. But some of the stuff people buy at celebrity auctions will make you raise your eyebrows, to say the least. The Huffington Post rounds up eight particularly strange—and often gross—items:

  • Gum chewed by Britney Spears: $14,000
  • A jar containing the breath of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: $530
  • A tissue used by Scarlett Johansson: $5,300
  • A half-eaten order of French toast touched by Justin Timberlake's lips: $3,154

The person who paid $14K for a piece of gum should immediately have the ability to reproduce taken away, followed by a tar and feathering to help prevent anyone else from being this dumb. How much for Ryan Gosling's half eaten eggs? $50K?
