(Newser) – The latest dance craze involves … galloping around as if you were riding a horse. Sounds awkward, but it's caught on, thanks to South Korean rapper Psy (that's short for Psycho; real name Park Jae-sang). "There's a saying in Korean. 'Let's ride a horse' means 'let's have a drink and have some fun,' hence the dance," he tells CNN. His "Gangnam Style" video, featuring many examples of the horse dance, is a total hit, and gyms in Seoul are incorporating the dance into their workout classes.

Plus, other celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon: Nelly Furtado performed her version of the dance at a recent Philippines concert, Yahoo reports, and the CBC adds that Justin Bieber may collaborate with Psy. As for the title of the song, it refers to Gangnam, an affluent district in Seoul, and the recurring lyric "Oppan Gangnam Style" loosely translates to, "Girls, your big brother is Gangnam Style." As Psy explained to ABC News, “Gangnam means, it's like Beverly Hills of Korea. But the guy doesn't look like Beverly Hills. Dance doesn't look like Beverly Hills. ... But he keeps saying I'm Beverly Hills style. So that's the point. It's sort of a twist."

I ever see a horse dancing like that, I'm gonna make a million dollars off of him - and then release him back into the wild, of course. It's only fair.

This Caesar's Palace commercial that played in the beginning - with the Tiger on the luggage cart - always seems in such poor taste to me considering what happened to Roy Horn of Siegfried and Roy at the Mirage in 2003. A hotel very similar to Caesar's Palace. If people would quit hunting them and/or keeping them as fucking pets or using them for ridiculous commercials showing all the astounding excesses of our society, I'll just bet we'd get a big, fat "thank you" from the animal kingdom in the form of less maulings.
