Not every celebrity requires a televised wedding extravaganza when they get hitched, as Rosie O'Donnell recently proved. (Adele denies that she's done the same, after one supposed wedding guest told the Mail she quietly married Simon Konecki, with whom she is having a baby.) OMG! rounds up 11 more celebrities who managed to marry in secret:
- Janet Jackson: The first time the world knew she and songwriter Rene Elizondo got married was when she announced that they were getting divorced, eight years later.
- Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem: The couple kept their engagement, their wedding, and their pregnancy under wraps—at least for a while.
- Aaliyah and R. Kelly: Aaliyah was reportedly only 15 at her wedding, although her marriage certificate says 18; her groom was 27. The marriage was annulled, and the couple always denied it ever happened.
- Robert Plant and Patty Griffin: The Led Zeppelin frontman revealed earlier this year that he had "eloped and ran off to Texas."
