(Newser) – Four-month-old "Baby Kate" Phillips vanished in June 2011, and her disappearance remains the subject of a homicide investigation. Now her mother is planning to marry the man suspected of killing her. The accused, Sean Phillips, is also Baby Kate's father. Ariel Courtland says she is marrying Phillips not out of love but in order to visit him in prison and find out the truth behind their daughter's disappearance, reports Michigan Live.

Sean Phillips was the last person to see Baby Kate alive in their Michigan home. In April, he was convicted of unlawfully imprisoning the child and is now serving 10 years in prison. Courtland filed an affidavit this week to marry him, and she has 30 days to do so.

If he goes on trial for murder, as it appears he has not, maybe she thinks she would not have to testify against him as his wife.

Ok , that,s one way of doing it , maybe a little time in a room alone with him and  a ball bat would be a better approach to get the info she needs !!!

So I'm taking bets on who plays her in the television movie. I'm giving 5-1 odds on Jennifer Love Hewitt, 10-1 on Alyssa Milano, and 20-1 on Kelly Ripa.
