(Newser) – Taylor Swift's new album, of course, contains quite a few references to ex-boyfriends, including the breakup anthem, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." In her honor, Radar rounds up nine more celebrities who got revenge via music:

  • Nick Lachey wrote "What's Left of Me" about ex-wife Jessica Simpson.
  • Outkast hit "Ms. Jackson" is reportedly about Erykah Badu, who had a baby with Andre 3000.

  • Madonna's "Miles Away" is said to be about Guy Ritchie, written months before they divorced.
  • Everyone assumes Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" is about Britney Spears, particularly since he cast a Brit lookalike in the video.

poets and songwriters do it best when it's something they know so it shouldn't be any surprise that it may be based on things that actually happened in their life. this is a big DUH to me.

Wow.  Revenge in a song!  How sweet is that? Actually, not that sweet.  Sort of inconsequential and meaningless. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If a tree falls in a forest, and it feels really, really good, and really, really satisfying, but nobody else really gives a shit, did anything actually happen?" --Anonymous
