One new luggage fee from Spirit is a whopping $100.   (?)

(Newser) – If you're the type who's always rushing to your gate with seconds to spare, then you might want to avoid flying with Spirit. The airline has hiked its fee for large carry-on items to $100, reports USA Today, but the price gouge can be avoided by declaring your bags in advance online (which costs $35) or at a check-in counter or kiosk (which runs $50). Spirit says the high price is intentional to get fliers to declare bags in advance and "deter customers from waiting until they get to the boarding gate," which slows down the operation for everyone on board. Don't worry: Bags that fit under your seat are still free.

Great idea. I hate when stupid passengers hold up the lines. The large bags probably contain their blow up dolls and other sex toys.

It'd be fine if they applied babies to the carry-on policy.
