When Colorado voters approved legal marijuana in November, one of the surprise backers of the referendum was conservative former congressman Tom Tancredo. Not that Tancredo indulges himself—he just thinks the federal government wastes too much money trying to enforce pot laws. In his support of the referendum, Tancredo told the producer of a promotional video that he would smoke a joint if the measure passed. Yesterday, the 2008 presidential candidate promised to follow through, reports Fox News.

"Look, I made a bet with the producer of the film that if Amendment 64 passed (I did not think it would) that I would smoke pot," he explains in a statement. "I will therefore smoke pot under circumstances we both agree are legal under Colorado law." No word yet on when or where he'll be inhaling. (More Tom Tancredo stories.)
