(Newser) – Hollywood, the land of liberal politics and casual sex? Maybe so, but a few celebrities have held pro-life views in recent years. Huffington Post rounds 'em up:

  • Jack Nicholson: The admitted "womanizer" (thanks, Radar) says his mother was a teenage showgirl when she got pregnant with him. People urged her to abort Jack, but she refused. Ergo his pro-life stance.
  • Martin Sheen: A devout Catholic, he espoused his conservative views on an Irish talk show two years ago. He said his pro-life philosophy prevented him from supporting President Obama in 2008.
  • Kathy Ireland: The former model talked about her religious views at the Council for Life's annual luncheon in 2011. She said her beliefs led her to become pro-life.
  • Mel Gibson: "God is the only one who knows how many children we should have, and we should be ready to accept them," he told Barbara Walters in 1990. "That decision doesn't belong to us."
  • Justin Bieber: In 2011, he told Rolling Stone that abortion is "like killing a baby." Question about cases of rape, he said, "Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. ... I wouldn't be able to judge that."
  • Ben Stein: The "Anyone? Anyone?" actor from Ferris Bueller's Day Off has long taken conservative stands. He worked as a speechwriter for presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

It doesnt matter what your views are, it matters how you would vote for the people you represent, I myself have the pro-life view, but if i represented a group of americans i couldnt tell them how to treat there bodies, people should have total control over there bodies

Who gives a shit what "celebs" think. They're over paid jesters for our amusement only. Their opinions count for nothing.

As I see it, while we continue to debate this issue, women continue to have the right to have abortions willy nilly. The sad thing is about half of those fetuses that would have grown inside their mother and been birthed would have been girls. So much for the rights of those girls/women who were never allowed to see their lives reach full fruition. As for the person who says that Republicans are anti abortion but have no interest in taking care of the baby who is born poor? No, maybe Republicans are for taking a little responsibility for your actions. If you can't afford a baby, maybe it's not the right time to have one.If now is not the time to have a baby, then make darned sure you protect yourself from getting pregnant.Going forward with it anyway because you know the government (or whoever) will take care of it even if you can't.....is that the answer? But then again that's the liberal mantra.....blame others, shuck responsibility because someone else will be there to take the responsibility for you. Right? But as far as these liberals who say their pro-choice but aren't for abortion? Why? Abortion either stops a life or it doesn't. And if it doesn't....why do you have to qualify yourself as being against abortion. You can't have it both ways, otherwise it makes you sound like you ARE questioning the act of abortion.Whatever though....abortion continues. Women continue to do it as a matter of "choice".....liberals continue to support it. They're the ones who have to live with themselves, deal with the consequences, and will have to answer for it one day.As for Republican "Nazis"? That's a hoot. Considering what the act of abortion is doing, it seems a little odd these liberals calling pro-lifers the "Nazis." Once conception has occurred, I hate to think of how many lives have been stopped in their tracks. And while they're all in an uproar about wanting gun control because of what guns can do to people, amazing how, once again, the consequences of abortion don't seem to be much of a concern.
