(Newser) – LMFAO rapper Redfoo, of "Sexy and I Know It" fame, is apparently multi-talented: He's entered the US Open national playoffs, hoping to earn a spot in the year's last Grand Slam tennis tournament, the AP reports. Redfoo will play under his actual name, Stefan Gordy, in a California qualifying tournament in June; he's entered in both the singles and mixed doubles categories, and will play doubles with a 17-year-old he's coaching.

"It's always been a dream of mine to play professional tennis," says the 37-year-old rapper, who played as a junior. Another unexpected playoff entrant: Heroes actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, 38, who also played as a junior. He'll play singles and mixed doubles in a New York qualifying tournament in June.

Being a semi-pro tennis player I can honestly say he has no chance at 37 years of age in this tennis era.  Maybe 20,30 years ago.  He should try the senior tour with Sampras and Mcenroe.

It's strange finding out celebrities are multi-talented. One of the last things I'd suspect him of being is a tennis player. I would have thought gardener and cook, but I just assumed he was a big stoner hahaha.
