8 Dead in Tennessee Bus Accident

(Newser) – An accident involving a bus, a tractor-trailer, and an SUV has left eight people dead and 14 more injured near Knoxville, Tennessee, reports AP. Local TV station WLVT says it was a church bus from North Carolina that caused the accident on I-40. The bus crossed the median and hit the other two vehicles before overturning, says a state transportation official. The tractor-trailer then caught fire. CNN says the bus driver lost control when a front tire blew out.

One of the most dangerous vehicles to ride in: a church bus. They are usually old, have bad tires, inexperienced drivers, are overloaded, and poorly maintained. Notice when you see a bus broken down along the road is is usually a church bus. They are so dangerous that even old J. C. won't ride in one with his flock..
