So far very little is known about the cretian that chose to kill a talented surgeon and then kill himself. What a tragedy in that a person with M/H issues can boldly carry a lethal weapon around and take one or 20+ lives then kill themselves. What a sick society we have become when people try to defend every crazy zombie's RIGHT to have a lethal weapon. Do something beyond touting the 2nd Amendment. Put some reality into this tragedy by reading this news article about the life that is now ended and how it will affect many. http://www.rgj.com/viewart/20131218/NEWS/312180034/Update-Reno-police-release-names-Renown-shootings-may-not-been-random-event-

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services: Doctors (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000. (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000. (C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171 Statistics courtesy of FBI: Guns (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. Yes, that's 80 million!! (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500. (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188 So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.' FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT, Almost everyone has at least one doctor. This means you are over 9,000 times more likely to be killed by a doctor as by a gun owner. Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand. Out of concern for the public at large, we withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

A license is required for marriage, dog ownership, motor vehicle operation, serving the public in a restaurant, selling liquor, flying an airplane, piloting a motor vessel, hauling garbage, pest control, performing medical procedures, repairing a jet engine, and hundreds of other tasks or operations. Will the 2nd Amendment folks have us eliminate licensing requirements for all of the above? No? Then, why the fuss about determining whether or not someone should be allowed to carry a deadly weapon?
