(Newser) – A cell phone went off last night in London's Old Vic theater as Kevin Spacey was in the middle of a tense scene. The theatergoer apparently thought he could play innocent and let it keep ringing—until Spacey himself erupted from the stage, reports the Independent. "If you don't answer that, I will," he yelled to applause. The nifty part is that he never broke character, notes the Daily Mail. But at least it wasn't a seething Frank Underwood of House of Cards fame: Spacey was starring in Clarence Darrow, about the famed American lawyer. It was opening night to boot.

I've been to classical concerts and when you look down from the balcony you see the glow from the screens of peoples smart phones and tablets everywhere. It spoils the experience. These hat racks shell out good money for a show or concert, then they don't actually watch it. In addition, these are not teenagers doing it, but well heeled business people in $ 2000 suits and evening gowns. Anyone using an electronic device once the show has started should be escorted out of the theater by several huge bouncers on steroids.

Hence, one of the main reasons I don't go to theaters any more. Take note ...theater owners....the cell phoners, crying babies, and the other talking monkeys are costing you money!

Cell phones are SUCH a waste of money. The land line at home works just fine; you can call Aunt Ethyl about the kids' T-ball practice when you get HOME! Cell-phone idiots.
