A woman in Pittsburgh made the bold move of trying to steal a police car; unfortunately for her, it contained police. According to authorities, an apparently drunk Ria Buford, 32, was hanging out with friends near the unmarked car following a huge after-party for a concert. Plainclothes officers were sitting inside, the AP reports, though the driver seat was empty, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes. Buford sat down in it, and an officer told her she was under arrest.

Buford, who had "an overwhelming odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from her person," police say, explained that she was going to use the car to drive to her own vehicle. The officer in the passenger seat got out and tried to pull Buford from the car; a nearby man got physically involved in the altercation and told police not to touch her. He refused to put his hands behind his back and was handcuffed after another cop "delivered two knee strikes to his back area," police say. Buford was charged with robbery and the unidentified man with aggravated assault; both were also charged with public drunkenness, the Post-Gazette notes. (More police stories.)
