It probably made all the sense in the world to him at the time: When informed he was under arrest, a man in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., dove to the ground and began rolling around in dog feces, reports the Times Leader. Then he played his trump card: You can't arrest me, he told the officer, because I'm "covered in s---." Alas, it didn't work, and 45-year-old Maurice Franklin was taken into custody. Police first stopped Franklin because they say he was jumping from the curb into traffic. He was charged with, yes, public drunkenness, notes AP. (More weird crimes stories.)
