Prom Faux Pas: 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week
This Tuesday, May 5, 2015 photo provided by the Ada County Sheriff’s office shows a message "Destiny, Prom?" painted in large pink and blue letters on the side of the Black Cliffs east of Boise.   (Patrick Orr/Ada County Sheriff’s Office via AP)

A misguided prom invitation and a not-recommended Ice Bucket Challenge are among the weirdest crime stories of the week:

  • Ice Bucket Video Could Get Cop 6 Years in Jail: Like countless others, Jaime Robison found herself playing a part in last summer's Ice Bucket Challenge craze to raise money for ALS. In a video uploaded in July, the California police officer was filmed lifting a 5-gallon pail of ice water and dousing a fellow cop. But she was actually on disability at the time, and thanks to the video, she's now feeling the heat.
  • Guy Accused of Plotting Wife's Death Stole Eulogy: Lawyers for South Africa's Chris Panayiotou admit he's not good with words. That's their explanation for why he plagiarized the eulogy he gave at his dead wife's funeral. And it just so happened that undercover cops were there to hear him. What they allege he also did is much worse than stealing lines such as "[she was a] master baker who was so good, she could have made Mahatma Gandhi break a fast."

  • There Had to Have Been a Better Way to Invite Destiny to the Prom: One that didn't involve possible jail time and a $1,000 fine, for instance. That's what a still-unidentified suitor may face if caught for scrawling his "DESTINY, PROM?" message in brightly colored paint on the Black Cliffs outside Boise, Idaho. There's more to the possible punishment, too.
  • Couple Could Get 15 Years for Sex on the Beach: Sex on the beach might sound fun, but we do not recommend it after this: Jose Caballero, 40, and Elissa Alvarez, 20, were found guilty Monday of copulating on Florida's Bradenton Beach, and now they face up to 15 years behind bars. Video caught the couple's "lewd and lascivious behavior" last year, and witnesses testified an unfortunate onlooker was present.
  • The Most Devoted Pizza Delivery Guy Ever: We hope Josh Lewis at least gets a coveted "Employee of the Month" parking spot, but for all time. The 19-year-old pizza deliveryman from Louisville, Ky., was carjacked and stabbed Sunday afternoon ... and still delivered his order. Where he was delivering the pizza to turned out to be quite fortuitous.
