Rolling Stone mugs for Louis Vuitton

(Newser) – Keith Richards is featured in a new Louis Vuitton ad, accessorized as usual with headscarf and guitar—but wearing no LV, writes Elizabeth Snead in the Los Angeles Times. The Rolling Stone isn’t identified in the pic, as, a rep notes, “Keith Richards needs absolutely no introduction." But the aging rocker hasn’t sold out: He’s donating his pay to Al Gore’s Climate Project.

“This is the first time ever that Keith Richards has participated in an advertising campaign of any sort,” says the spokesman. The ad is about self-discovery, “and it is hard to imagine a more compelling embodiment of a personal, emotional journey.” The late-night shot, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz, is on a London billboard and in British papers, Bloomberg reports.
