Woman Admits Killing Beau Over Bruce

An Australian woman said she had a "brain snap" when her boyfriend wouldn't let her play a Bruce Springsteen CD, CNN reports. She stabbed him to death with a kitchen knife, swallowed a handful of pills, then called emergency services. "I couldn't even play Bruce Springsteen on my stereo. Can you believe that?" she asked the arresting officers.

During a police interview she said she had gotten sick of being bossed around. "Who doesn't like Bruce Springsteen? I am 49 years old and I want to play my own music," she said. The couple had both been drinking the night of the stabbing. A Brisbane court sentenced the woman to 8 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter. (More Australia stories.)
