Guy Guesses Password, Changes Road Sign ...and now faces 10 years in prison By Newser Editors, Newser Staff Posted May 25, 2016 11:18 AM CDT 86 comments Comments Geoffrey Eltgroth (Williamson County Sheriff) (Newser) – A 26-year-old man in central Texas allegedly couldn't resist temptation when he walked by an electronic road sign warning motorists about construction. Police say Geoffrey Eltgroth correctly guessed the username and password and changed the sign to read, "Drive Crazy Yall," reports the Austin American-Statesman. His first problem is that a driver saw the switch take place and called police. His second, larger, problem is that the resulting charge of criminal mischief is a third-degree felony punishable by 10 years in prison. Eltgroth has previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and making a terroristic threat, notes the Dallas Morning News. He was being held on $5,000 bail.
