(Newser) – Yes, your probiotic flaxseed Kashi cereal is still organic, but shoppers looking to stick it to the man by going green be advised: the nation's top 30 corporate food processors—think Pepsi, Kellogg, Kraft, General Mills—have been quietly buying up vast swaths of the organic aisle of your supermarket, Treehugger reports.

True, the fact that Boca Burgers are sold by Kraft and Gardenburgers by Kellogg may herald an end to the green pastures promised us by organic milk cartons. But it might also signal that corporate food is willing to change its ways. "I feel this was the right move to continue to make the impact I want to make," said the founder of Dagoba Organic, who sold his venture to Hershey.

Many organic food companies have been quietly bought up by the nation's leading corporate food processors, like Heinz, Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Boca Burgers are now sold by Kraft Foods.
