During the New England Patriots' visit to the White House in April, it was reported President Trump received a helmet and jersey—traditional gifts from a championship-winning team. But now CBS Boston reports Trump also received a commemorative Super Bowl ring from his longtime friend, Patriots owner Robert Kraft. The Patriots say Trump got a ring because they were the first team he invited to the White House.

A spokesperson for the team tells USA Today the ring is a replica of those given to the players, which featured 10-karat white gold and 280 diamonds and are believed to be worth well in excess of $36,500 each. If that's the case with Trump's ring, he would be legally required to report it in next year's financial disclosure. “People should watch closely to see if he discloses that,” a former director of the US Office of Government Ethics says. “If not, it’s a violation of the Ethics in Government Act.” (More Donald Trump stories.)
