Hillary Clinton blames a lot of people for her election loss in new book What Happened, including herself—and Vladimir Putin. She says that she is now "convinced" that there was collusion between members of President Trump's campaign team and Russians seeking to meddle in the election. "There certainly was communication and there certainly was an understanding of some sort," she tells USA Today. "Because there's no doubt in my mind that Putin wanted me to lose and wanted Trump to win. And there's no doubt in my mind that there are a tangle of financial relationships between Trump and his operation with Russian money." She says what has emerged since the election is "pretty troubling."

Clinton, whose book was released Tuesday, says she knew Putin had long had a "vendetta" against her, "yet I never imagined that he would have the audacity to launch a massive covert attack against our own democracy, right under our noses." In the book, she admits she wonders what would have happened if Obama had made a televised address to tell the nation democracy was under attack. She says the Democrats have an important lesson to learn for 2020: "Since it worked for Trump, and he was aided and abetted by the Russians, then get ready for something you have never seen before. Because as bad as it was in 2016, they will come back with new tricks." (Clinton says she is "done with being a candidate.")
