What does North Korea think of the US' Monday decision to relist it as a state sponsor of terror? Now we know: In the country's first public statement on the subject, a rep for the Foreign Ministry tells state-run KCNA that while North Korea doesn't care "whether the US puts a cap of 'terrorism' on us or not," the move is a "serious provocation and violent infringement" that only serves to strengthen its "deterrent force," as Yonhap puts it. Reuters and the AP have 4 more fiery quotes:

  1. "Our army and people are full of rage and anger toward the heinous gangsters who dared to put the name of our sacred country in this wretched list of 'terrorism' and are hardening their will to settle all accounts with those gangsters at any time in any way."
  2. "The US will be held entirely accountable for all the consequences to be entailed by its impudent provocation" to North Korea.
  3. The move shows North Korea should continue to "keep the treasured nuclear sword in our hands more tightly" to safeguard itself.
  4. The move by "old lunatic Trump" has spurred the army and people to erupt in "hate and spirit to destroy the enemy." (This last quote comes from a separate statement made by a rep for the country's Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee. The last time North Korea called Trump an "old lunatic" he swung back.)
