The sign language gestures for "rock on" and "I love you" are similar, but for this Canadian father and daughter, there's a lot of overlap. At first, Jules Maria was annoyed by the two, who were dancing in front of her Wednesday at the Three Days Grace concert in Edmonton. They were taking up a lot of space, which Maria called "irritating"—until it became clear what was really going on. CNN reports Kari Carberry, 19, was signing the song lyrics to her hearing-impaired dad, 53-year-old Darrin Carberry, who was born deaf and only has limited hearing in one ear with the help of a hearing aid. The video posted on Facebook by Maria, who taped 30 seconds or so of the father-daughter interaction, shows Kari and Darrin dancing to the headbanging music, facing each other as Kari signs the lyrics to her dad, who appears to be enjoying the experience as much as she is.

"We witnessed something absolutely beautiful," Maria writes. "We couldn't care less about what was happening on stage, watching them was absolutely mesmerizing. They were both very sweet and her father was very proud of his daughter." Hundreds of thousands of people have since shared the video, and Three Days Grace itself got wind of it and reposted it on their own Facebook page. "This is the coolest thing on the internet right now!!! so sweet," the band wrote. CNN notes that the band's drummer, Neil Sanderson, also made contact with Kari on Facebook to comment on how awesome he thought she and her dad were. "For one of them to reach out personally was really cool," Kari says. (An "angel" helped a blind and deaf man on an Alaska Airlines flight.)
