(Newser) – And, as Illinois' late Senator Everett Dirksen once said, you are talking about real money. Tom Siebel, University of Illinois graduate and founder of Siebel Systems, a customer management relationship software firm, pledged $100 million in his will to the U of I.

The gift is in addition to $40 million Siebel previously pledged and is part of the university’s $2.25 billion fundraising campaign. It comes a day after the University of Chicago announced an anonymous $100 million donation to eliminate the need for lower income students to take out loans for tuition.
