Starlet nixes mag's offer for tell-all about coming out

(Newser) – Lindsay Lohan turned down a $1 million offer from OK! to come out on the magazine's cover, the New York Post reports. Lohan and the gossip weekly were negotiating a story about her relationship with celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson. "Lindsay really wants this to happen and she needs the money," said a source, but the starlet's flak says there's nothing in the works.

(NEWSER) - In Lithuania, a 37-year-old man was slapped with a fine of nearly $600 for posting on Facebook that there should be another Hitler who should kill gay people. The furniture-maker wrote the comment under an article about Lady Gaga's criticism of the Lithuanian government, reports PinkNews . (NEWSER) - Cynthia Nixon stirred up quite a bit of controversy with her recent statement that being gay is, for her, "a choice," and now she's backtracking a bit. "While I don't often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual," she says in a statement to the Advocate . "I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. (NEWSER) - Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon stirred up some controversy with her interview in Sunday's New York Times Magazine , in which she said that homosexuality is, for her, "a choice." Nixon, promoting her appearance in a Broadway play opening Thursday, explained that she recently gave a speech to a gay audience that included the line, "I’ve been straight and I’ve been gay, and gay is better." 'Gay Nativity' Vandalized in California

Cops launch hate crime probe

(NEWSER) - Police have launched a hate crime investigation into vandalism of a "gay nativity" scene outside a California church. The scene at Claremont United Methodist Church featured three wooden light boxes portraying a heterosexual and two homosexual couples holding hands beneath a Star of Bethlehem and the words: "Christ is Born." The gay couples were pushed over, reports the Los Angeles Times . The church has a history of featuring social or political messages in its nativity scenes, but they have never before been vandalized. "Christ's birth in a stable had a lot to do with being marginalized," said the church pastor. "What this church has tried to do through these scenes is say, 'What would that look like today?'" More»
