Fewer Men Are Going to Church

(Newser Summary) – The number of men attending church services is plummeting, and now females outnumber males at places of worship in every major Christian denomination, reports USA Today. Religious groups across the US are launching campaigns to get men praying, trying everything from guy decor to "beast feasts," where male worshipers dine on meat they hunted themselves.

Recruiting males to church is key to keeping the whole family worshiping, say faith experts. "If the mom comes, there's a 15% chance the family will," said a pastor. "But if the man comes to church, 90% of the time the family will come along behind." One church attracted guys by mixing preaching with videos, skits, and music.
