It's the time of year when we're thankful for the abundance in our lives—and, hopefully, we try to think of others who aren't so fortunate. WalletHub looked at more than 180 US cities to see which ones suffer most from economic disarray, including through homelessness, food insecurity, and overall poverty. The site examined more than two dozen metrics in two main categories: economic well-being, which includes everything from unemployment and poverty rates, to median credit scores and the share of those delinquent on their debts; and health and safety, which factors in suicide and crime rates, as well as food insecurity, among metrics. Detroit ranks as the neediest city on WalletHub's list, coming in as the highest in the nation on unemployment with an 8.3% rate. The least needy city in the US: Overland Park, Kansas.
