Don't hold your breath waiting for the mainstream media to cover the John Edwards sex scandal. Despite mounting evidence over 9 months—and even photos in the National Enquirer—the newspapers are assiduously avoiding this story, complains contrarian commentator Alexander Cockburn in the Eureka Reporter, detailing the evidence.

Cockburn blasts the "respectable" press for its reticence, noting: "The New York Times, nine weeks away from running a long, highly speculative story about John McCain’s possible relationship with the much-younger Vicki Iseman, kept its mouth shut, as did the rest of the mainstream press."
