The safest airline in the US also happens to be the cheapest—and yet, not the best overall. That's according to WalletHub, which compared the nine largest US airlines and one regional carrier (SkyWest, which serves more than one major airline) across 13 metrics, including cost, delays, cancellations, injuries, entertainment options, and legroom. Each airline was given an overall score, with Alaska Airline coming in at No. 1. However, Spirit Airlines was both the safest and most affordable. Below is the overall ranking, as well as the top performer in four key categories.
