Obama Launches Corsi Counterstrike

Candidate hits back at Obama Nation with detailed rebuttal

(Newser) – Barack Obama is launching an aggressive counterattack on Obama Nation, the Jerome Corsi book aimed to derail his reputation, Talking Points Memo reports. In sharp contrast to John Kerry's "don't dignify that with a response" approach to Corsi's book demolishing the decorated veteran's Swift Boat record, the Obama campaign is swiftly responding to claims in the book, blasting Corsi's credibility, and pushing media outlets to give his side equal time.

The campaign has released a 40-page rebuttal to Obama Nation, and plans to send a team of surrogates, well-armed with talking points, out to work the cable news networks. They'll contact producers of programs Corsi appears on, rebut the book's charges, and arm them with some of Corsi's more outrageous past claims.

(NEWSER) - In addition to "president," Barack Obama can already call himself an author—but now you can add "children's author" to his many hats. His Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters was written before he took office and will be released Nov. 16, the Christian Science Monitor reports. The book, according to Random House, is "a moving tribute to thirteen groundbreaking Americans and the ideals that have shaped our nation," including Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackie Robinson, and George Washington.
