Bristol Palin's babydaddy is on his way to join the family at the Republican National Convention, AP reports. Hockey-loving Levi Johnston, 18, left Alaska for Minnesota yesterday, according to his mom, who said the young couple planned to marry even before they knew 17-year-old Bristol was pregnant. Sarah Palin, whose bombshell announcement that her daughter was five months pregnant quickly overshadowed the convention, addresses delegates tonight.

Though Johnston described himself on his MySpace page as a "redneck" who "doesn't want kids," friends now say he's "psyched" about the pregnancy, reports the New York Daily News. Johnston is no longer in high school, his mom revealed yesterday, though she didn't say if he has simply dropped out or has obtained a high school equivalency degree.  (More Levi Johnston stories.)
