Posted Sep 4, 08 12:58 PM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip

(Newser) – Britney Spears started boozing at 13, lost her virginity at 14, and took drugs at 15, mother Lynne Spears writes in her upcoming memoir, Through the Storm. The Sun reports that in the book due Sept. 16, Lynne expresses regret for letting her daughter become a sex object and believes that exploitation is the root of her eldest daughter’s current problems.

Among the revelations leaked from the tell-all:

  • At 14, Britney slept with an 18-year-old jock at her high school;
  • Lynne permitted Britney to sleep with beau Justin Timberlake because she thought he was good for her.
  • At 16, Britney was caught on a private jet with cocaine and marijuana.
