Sarah Palin broke with John McCain on gay marriage today, saying she backs a federal ban after all, ABC News reports. In a 700 Club interview airing tomorrow, Palin says she has "voted along with the vast majority of Alaskans" to outlaw gay nuptials. "I wish on a federal level that that's where we would go because I don't support gay marriage."
McCain said earlier this month that wants states to rule on gay marriage. Palin said the same in her interview with Katie Couric, but at other times has reserved the right to support traditional marriage without "judging individuals." On 700 Club she finally came out: Strong families are "based on that traditional vision of marriage, so I do support that" with a federal amendment.
