Fox Isn't Flag-Waving, Just Angry

(Newser) – The conservative movement is at a crossroads, torn between its intellectuals (think David Brooks) and its shouters (think Rush Limbaugh). As TV’s main conservative voice, Fox News could tip the scales, so Isaac Chotiner of the New Republic watched as much of the channel as he could. His verdict isn’t kind. “Once the network of optimistic, flag-waving jingoism,” he writes, “Fox has become a beacon of sky-is-falling fury.”

These days, Fox isn’t so much partisan as “simply angry.” John McCain’s talking points are mostly ignored in favor of obscure talk radio obsessions like ACORN, Bill Ayers, and, especially, Fox News and media bias. Ted Stevens’ conviction was largely ignored, but Joe the Plumber’s every move was rabidly tracked. “Fox truly felt like an alternate universe,” Chotiner concludes. “The channel appeared interested only in raising conservatives’ blood pressure.”

I was surprised as I channel hopped FOX was not caling the states as fast as CNN but had the better comentary . I even had to check a couple of times that I was on FOX. I will not be surprised if they have $ problems. I will say that they are a fine example of watching who owns the Broadcast channels. Rupert is /was trying to change politics in America with right(FAR RIGHT) Lies and plain old BULL. Last night they had no choice to lie and try to tell us lies backed up with Bull, I have no doubt they are right back at it today. I can see it now G.W. Bush head of the new words and sayings Dept @ FOX. If Bush was so great let him run FOX , Better yet NewsCorp. Yes, that's what I thought . Mr O'Reily or Hannity do you have a job for Mr Ex President . Yes , let him run something of yours into the ground.Put your $ where your BIG MOUTH'S ARE. Then I might believe you Rupert Puppets. I ask you both to run for any office, put up or shut up. Oh that would take some thinking about solving problems instead of pointing them out . Any moron can point fingers ,blame others with simple snippets ,half truths and no I didn't forget the big one OUTRIGHT LIES. Fair and Balanced, indeed . I would be surprised if that was not one of the funny comments around the FOX water cooler. If FOX news told me the sky was blue I would look out the window to be sure.Like the election RESULTS show me (I am sure you have a different take, after all when did you @ FOX ever let facts get in the way of truth). This Country has had enough. I believe these 2 bozos as much as I believe Peter Griffin sometimes as others have said I do watch to see what Bull_hit they are throwing hoping it will stick to reasonable people. Not much stuck guys . Can you say PRESIDENT OBAMA. All of the

I actually watched Fox news throughout the election, and honestly, they weren't to biased, stuck mostly to the facts. Great job for once.
