Comedian Wanda Sykes has revealed she is gay—and married her girlfriend days before passage of Proposition 8 banned gay marriage in California. The 44-year-old co-star of The New Adventures of Old Christine and Curb Your Enthusiasm spoke emotionally to a cheering crowd at a rally supporting gay marriage in Las Vegas over the weekend, reports E! Online.
"I don't talk about my sexual orientation. I didn't feel like I had to," she told the crowd. But now the battle over Proposition 8 has "galvanized a community," she added. "Instead of having gay marriage in California, we’re going to get it across the country. How can you stop people from loving each other?”
