(Newser) – Larry Craig’s guilty plea will stand—probably with a wide stance—a Minnesota appeals court ruled today, rejecting the Idaho Republican's attempt to withdraw it. Craig, who is retiring from the Senate, had argued that his case was not fully investigated, while his lawyer maintained that there was “no factual basis” for the plea. The court disagreed.

“Appellant has not shown that the district court abused its discretion in denying his petition to withdraw his guilty plea,” the judge wrote in th 10-page ruling.

Sen. Craig should just let the guilty plea stand and move on. Methinks he protest to much

You'd think with Sen. Craig's reputation, they'd want to embrace and stand behind him.
