(NEWSER) - A woman fell into the Niagara River and was swept over the falls last night after climbing onto a railing while taking pictures with a friend. Emergency crews are still searching for her today, but she is presumed dead, the Toronto Star reports. The woman, who was in her 20s, climbed onto a railing on the Canadian side of the falls at around 8:30pm, perching atop a block pillar. $50M Hornet disintegrates into smoldering debris in Fresno field

(NEWSER) - Two service members were killed yesterday when a fighter jet crashed into a field in central California during a training exercise. The F/A-18F Super Hornet went down a half mile from the Naval Air Station outside of Fresno. Witnesses said the $50 million aircraft disintegrated into "smoldering debris," reports AP . It was the second Hornet accident in just over a week in the state. The engine of a F/A-18C Hornet burst into flames on an aircraft carrier last week off San Diego. (NEWSER) - A day in the Poconos turned deadly on Saturday for a 70-year-old skydiver who was killed after a midair collision. Theodore Wilson's parachute deployed but became tangled with that of a 75-year-old skydiver, who has been hospitalized in critical condition. The two fell about 75 feet to the ground, say police. Bronx man, 45, was teaching boy to drive Porsche SUV

(NEWSER) - A 13-year-old Bronx boy accidentally killed his father last night while trying to park the family’s Porsche SUV, the New York Post reports. The family had just eaten at a restaurant, and waiters heard the boy ask if he could move the car. John Cedeno, 45, stood beside the open passenger-side door, and was pinned against a tree when his son put the vehicle in reverse. More»

He's the third park employee to die on the job this summer

(NEWSER) - Disney World canceled its “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” yesterday, after one of the performers suffered a head injury and died during practice, the AP reports. He’s the third park employee to meet an untimely demise on the job this summer, but Disney says the deaths are unrelated, and OSHA investigators are treating them as separate cases. More»
