Complaint Shows Blago's Wife Plotted With Him

Rod Blagojevich's wife was deeply involved in his alleged scheming, the Chicago Tribune reports, based on details in the federal complaint against the Illinois governor. Though Patricia Blagojevich has not been charged with a crime, she was a vocal party to wiretapped conversations. In one recording, she can be heard in the background hurling expletives at the Tribune Co. while the governor discusses Wrigley Field.

Mrs. Blagojevich’s Lady Macbeth-like activities continued into the discussion of Barack Obama’s Senate seat. She was present at a conversation about selling the seat, a goal of which was to secure her highly paid board positions. Mrs. Blagojevich’s past is peppered with activity that has appeared to some to violate ethics rules or leverage influence for personal gain. She did not attend her husband’s bail hearing.
