Gates: Don't 'Test' Obama

(Newser) – Defense Secretary Robert Gates assured the world today that there would be continuity between the administrations of George Bush and Barack Obama, and that anyone who thought otherwise “would be sorely mistaken,” the BBC reports. Gates, who will be staying on in the Obama Cabinet, told an audience in Bahrain that any “test” of the new administration would be futile.

“President Obama and his national security team, myself included, will be ready to defend the interests of the United States and our friends and allies from the moment he takes office on January 20th,” Gates said at a security conference attended by delegates from 25 states.
