Palin: Media Gives Kennedy Free Pass

Social status made for her own tough ride, says ex-candidate, also ripping Fey, Couric

(Newser) – Sarah Palin says the media is lobbing softballs at Caroline Kennedy because of the would-be New York senator’s class status, Politico reports. The Republican governor of Alaska speculates that “there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy,” which hasn’t arisen during the Kennedy scion’s efforts at appointment.

Palin’s remarks, released in online clips from the upcoming conservative documentary Media Malpractice, also take aim at TV personalities for “exploiting” the governor during last year’s presidential campaign. “I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen,” Palin said, adding that her Couric interviews “were not portrayed as accurately as they could have, should have, been.”

I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin

I don't think she's excusing herself as much as she's saying that the media treat Caroline differently. And she is right on about the class issue. Elites - who really control the media - hate the working class

Has the media treated the two women differently, yes, however it should be noted that Gov Palin did everything in her power to avoid the media after she was announced as the GOP VP, which caused the media to go after her when she made herself available. As for her being, "exploited", by tv personalities, she needs to grow up, she's in the public eye, a choice she made. Reply
