(Newser) – Heath Ledger’s posthumous Golden Globe and other awards for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight will be given to his daughter Matilda, People reports. His family is “bursting with pride” over all the praise, but it has been “a bit of an emotional rollercoaster,” said his mother, calling Matilda the person who mattered most in his life.

“It is such a fantastic and wonderful legacy for his daughter,” she continued. “Matilda will have so many people who will be able to speak to her about her father's abilities and the respect he had in the industry. That is such a wonderful legacy to leave.”
