(Newser) – Sarah Palin is steaming over a conservation group's ad in which Ashley Judd slams the Alaska governor for "championing the slaughter of wildlife," Politico reports. Palin released a statement in which she called the campaign "reprehensible and hypocritical," adding: "Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these rough economic times."

It's funny how we try to justify the slaughtering of any animal, however I thought we were more inteligent than that - guess that can't be said about the enitire polulation though. What you can't build fences to keep the wolves out? Nature has a way of thinning the population, however the human race can adapt to most climates, depsite hardships to the enviroment or lack of food to supply them with. If you would study the ecology of nature, you would realize that you need top predators to keep the balance - but it doesn't matter what anybody says. We as a race have a responsibility, and we will suffer any and all actions we make today, tomorrow. Can there be balance between the human race and nature? I sometimes wonder, but I know this much - we will reap our actions!

well, in the past, when bountys are offered for a pedator animal, it's because they are out of control, either with population, or with damaging other things such as farm animals or at times people, ect...so if it's the overpopulation aspect, whats worse killing off a certain number so that there is enough food for the survivors, or letting them breed out of control, become a dense packed population, and spread disease and famine amongst themselves, and still die off...slow and miserable and hungry...I doubt that Palin put a bounty simple to give hunters something to shoot at and make money...but go ahead and bash bash bash.....with only a part of the real picture, ......and neither politico, or Ashley Judd has the full story......but dont let that stop the hate mongering
