After nurturing a low profile for years, former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, 27, is back in the public eye, stumping for her presidential candidate mom. During her mother's 2000 Senate campaign, she was little more than set dressing. She has reprised that role this time around but may play a more prominent part later, reports the New York Times.
She does have her own life, with a demanding job at a hedge fund, a serious boyfriend, and a berth on the Manhattan party circuit. Back on the campaign trail, expect her to be a not-so-secret weapon, deployed strategically. Says one Hillary supporter: "People would rather see a member of a Clinton family at a fund-raiser than a surrogate."
