Muslim TV Founder Confesses to Beheading Wife

(Newser) – The founder of a Muslim TV network in New York has been charged with beheading his wife in the midst of an acrimonious divorce. Muzzammil Hassan, 44, was busted last week after he told police his wife's body could be found at his Buffalo offices and confessed to her murder, reports CNN. Hassan had a history of domestic violence, according to cops. He launched his Bridges TV operation in 2004 to show Muslims in a positive light.

Nwambe, you often make important points, but that was really pathetic... The problem is that millions of people get judged based on the actions of a tiny minority... "Under sharia law followed by Muslims, a woman can ask for a divorce"........"Under Islamic law, crimes such as apostasy (leaving Islam), adultery, theft or drinking alcohol are punishable by beheading, stoning, amputation of limbs or flogging".........Is everyone just going to ignore this is a freak occurrence? Can you show me the passages in the Koran that say these things? (Can you find any mention of burkhas or chadors in the Koran?) I too am "an equal opportunity religion-hater", and as with most religions, it's some of the people who practice them that are the problem, not the religion per se.

What is so ironic-about this story is that the husband founded his tv station in '04 to counter the "negative" stereotypes of Muslims. So what does he do....he cuts his wife's head off in the very place where she had the divorce papers served to him. Honor killing pure and simple. If a Jew,Catholic, etc did this...it wouldn't be called an honor killing. Where is the outrage by the Muslim community? Where is the outrage by the media in general? Why is everyone so afraid to call it what it is? We go after Polygamists in this country, why not these misogynistic/chauvanistic Muslim creeps? BTW, the perp isn't some newbie to the country and western civilization. Islamo-fascism is alive and well in these United States. Reply

I can't believe I agree with EastCoastPhilly but he's right. He started the station to counter negative portrayals of Muslims after 9/11. Then when his wife wants a divorce, he cuts off her head. Who does this?? This type of brutality is unique to Islam for some reason. All religions have their insane sects, fundamentalists, and laws within holy books themselves, but Islam just takes it to another level. These Muslims dudes need to take an anger management class asap! It is really hard to say that people are "singling out Muslims" in this article since this is terribly unique to male members of the Muslim faith. I mean how many American guys just chop their wife's head off and leave it on their desk?
